It’s that time. After more than two years away, we’re heading home. Though the journey isn’t quite over yet.

We’re travelling east via the Trans-Siberian Railway – 76-hundred kilometres, three countries (Russia, Mongolia and China), six time zones. Moscow to Beijing direct would be six days, but we’re stopping off along the way so it’ll take us three times longer. The plan is to be home mid-October.

Already we’re both feeling a bit sad that this adventure is coming to an end but, at the same time, we’re really looking forward to being home again and we’re especially excited for Gracie and Nate’s wedding in early November.

On this day last year Greg and I celebrated our own wedding in the tiny Italian village of Montegridolfo. It was a special day, made all the more so by loving family and friends.

And now, on this our first anniversary, here we are in a tiny village in Siberia. Not what we expected. But that’s been the thing about the past couple of years, there have been so many surprising and wonderful experiences. We’ve created memories to cherish for a lifetime and we’ll reflect on those memories as we settle back into beautiful Brisbane.

We can hardly wait. Home. It’s where we belong and where we’ll stay – at least for now. 🙂
